Grass Roots show cancelled, options for patrons available

As many of you are aware, the concert for The Grass Roots on July 1 was cancelled due to an unfortunate power outage in Layton that left 4,600 people without power.  We feel so bad that the show could not go on, and wish there was something we could have done!  Unfortunately, it was out of our control.  We thank everyone who was at the amphitheater for your understanding and the support you have shown.  We truly have the best patrons you could ask for!

If you bought tickets to the show, we don't want you to be left empty-handed.  We have several options available, which are:

  1. Donate your tickets back to the Davis Arts Council for a tax deduction
  2. Exchange your tickets straight up for any show except Josh Turner
  3. Return your tickets and receive a credit towards Josh Turner tickets
  4. Return your tickets for a gift certificate for next season
If you wish to exercise one of these options or have questions about them, please call us at 801-546-8575 so we can assist you with it.  Thanks again to all of our wonderful patrons and supporters.  We are excited about the rest of our lineup for the remainder of the Summer Nights with the Stars season and our Free Sunday Night Concerts as well.

They will have to impress our panel of judges and YOU in order to take home the grand prize of $1,000. (Auditions are May 1st, check our website or give us a call for more details if you’re interested in showing off your talent!)

3 REDNECK TENORS

From Paris, Texas, we introduce Billy Bob, Billy Joe and Billy Billee who happen to have big-time operatic voices. In a search of the perfect venue, you’re treated to an incredible musical adventure packed with unbelievable tunes and of course, lots of laughs. It’s down-home laughs, big city music!

THE GRASSROOTS
Thursday July 1: From 1967 to 1972, The Grass Roots set a record for being on the Billboard charts 307 straight weeks. They are one of only nine bands that have charted twenty-nine or more Top 100 Billboard singles. They have sold over twenty million records worldwide. They hold the all time attendance record for one act, the US concert of 600,000 people on July 4th, 1982 in Washington DC. Their biggest hits include Midnight Confessions, Let's Live For Today, Sooner or Later, and Temptation Eyes

LARRY GATLIN &THE GATLIN BROTHERS
Friday July 9: Led by Larry Gatlin, the Gatlin Brothers are one of the most popular country groups in music's history. Adopting and then adapting the close harmony and vocal techniques of the Louvins and the Everlys to country-pop, Larry and the Gatlin Brothers scored a number of hits during the '70s and '80s. In the early '90s the group relocated to Branson, MO. Now they bring their show to the Kenley for one night only.

MICHAEL HARRISON

This year Michael took his talents to a new level when he appeared on the hugely successful television show, “America’s Got Talent”. He was the only ventriloquist chosen to compete this year for the grand prize. He finished in the top 50 as a semi-finalist and received glowing reviews. This will be a show for the whole family!

RHYTHMIC CIRCUS:Feet Don’t Fail Me Now
Saturday July 31: Infusing their unique style of hard-hitting tap, high-spirited humor, and finger-snapping tunes, Rhythmic Circus satisfies their “rhythmic appetite” on everything from sand to folding chairs. This unforgettable show is guaranteed to leave audiences of all ages amazed with its unique “you have to see it to believe it” quality!

JOE MUSCOLINO BAND
Monday August 9: Back by popular demand! Listen to the powerful horns and rhythm of Joe Muscolino's nine-piece band as Dan and Jen sing the hits you love. Utah's most sought-after band will play this encore performance. Their Pop, Rock, and Jazz stylings are sure to please.

RYAN SHUPE AND THE RUBBERBAND

Saturday August 14: Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband is back in town! Practically growing up on the Kenley stage, this band hardly needs an introduction. The band’s country, bluegrass, folk, and pop sound is as diverse as their musical influences, ranging from Johnny Cash to The Police to AC/DC.

PUMP BOYS & DINETTES

August 25-28 & 30: The pump boys sell high-octane fuel on North Carolina's Highway 57 and the sassy dinettes, Prudie and Rhetta Cupp, run the Double Cupp diner next door. Between changing tires and baking pies, the gang performs a rousing, down-home mix of country western, rock 'n' roll, and blues in this charming tale of friendship, romance and life's simple pleasures.
